If you’ve ever felt ‘different’ this one’s for you ↓
Most kids & teenagers have NO IDEA about what career path to take
but for me, I always wanted to be a creative 🎨
and I don’t think I had a choice.
✢
Times tables only felt like an alien language, and reading aloud in class was my absolute BIGGEST fear.
I felt milesssss behind the rest of the kids.
As you can imagine, my mum was worried I wasn’t progressing as fast as the other kids.
& god she was nervous about what the teachers might say at my parents evening
BUT what they said brought her to tears.
“Fran tries 10× harder than ANY kid in her class just to get to the level they are at. She is so resilient and determined to understand.” - Maths teacher
“Fran struggles with her spelling, BUT she understands the biggest of words, and her writing can convey emotional depth and maturity way beyond anyone in the class.” - English teacher
✢
In hindsight, it's surprising that no one recognised the signs of dyslexia, but welcome to the British school system 🫠
But like many {undiagnosed neurodiverse kids} creativity was something UNBOUNDED to us.
When I worked harder, I got better!!!
🤞🏻
This wasn’t a memory test; it was driven by feeling, visuals, and emotions.
Because creativity is not just a skill but a way of seeing the world differently.
Creativity is SO important because it gave people like me a true purpose in the world.
That’s why I’m so passionate about it.
Comment below, I know I’m not the only one with school stories like this that led people to creativity. So, tell me yours 🫶🏻 ☕️
